    Hello. :)

I installed a new motherboard (ASUS Maximus IV Gene-z), a new CPU (Intel i5 2500K) and new RAM (Kingston HyperX Grey 8GB 1600Mhz) in my PC earlier today. I had some struggles, but I've managed to fix every problem but one.

The problem is with the RAM. The BIOS recognizes the 8GB RAM, so does CPU-Z but Windows doesn't. It says I have 3GB of RAM. :/

I have Windows 7 64-bit so that's not the issue. Before I installed all the new stuff I had 3 GB RAM so I suspect that might have something to do with it, but I don't know how. I can also notice that only 3 GB of RAM is used since having many tabs/applications open makes the computer sluggish, which I find quite odd.

Any suggestions on what to do?

    Thanks in advance,
    Magnosian

Solved it myself. For some reason the max memory option was checked and set at 3 GB in msconfig. Case closed. :D

Interesting. I never seen that before.

Yes, very interesting... where exactly is the max memory option in msconfig? A quick glance through it didn't jump out any option like that to me.
