RAM-DVD_Drive-PMP iriver

Ok so i got two sticks of 512 DDR pc3200 CL3 184pin sticks. I had two 256mb of the same to begin with. I was wondering if i could tweak anything to get this to its most potential.

DVD_Drive-
I have 2 dvd drives, one RW and one to just read.. Now the first RW is fine, but i cant seem to get the second drive to work. It opens, and attempts to read, but it always comes up as "insert disk in drive X" So i was wondering if i could get some possible solutions to fix this, i've looked it up a bit but found nothing usefull.

Now i've looked into a solution to this forever. But have got nothing. As for those who are familiar with iriver.. they are completely useless. I've tried in the forums made from iriver enthusiasts, called mystic iriver that can be looked up on google. And they dont seem to be able to help. Now my issue is that when i applied the latest version of software called firmware to it, it ceased to boot up past the second stage of loading (it loads for a few second, mirrors the screen and then stops) and it wont connect to my pc. So i cant access it to format it, and there's no reset button anywhere. So i've ran out of ideas.. the only things i've seen it to buy all these adaptors, take the PMP apart and connect the HD inside it to the pc that way, which i see as costly and i most likely wont be able to do. The second is to somehow corrupt the data so it goes into a boot failure, when this screen shows up its able to connect to the pc and i can format it from there. So basically all i need is a way to corrupt it. So anyone who can offer help.. i highly appreciate it.

And these are my problems.. if anyone can help.. just a little bit of advice would do great.
