Hello- My XP Pro SP3 machine has 2 x 2GB of DDR2 PC5300 Corsair ValueSelect RAM installed. The pc started acting really strange- BSOD's and all- so, I removed RAM and cleaned everything good. Still, there were issues. Next, I ran MemTest86+, using each stick separately and alternating slots, too. Yep, low and behold one of the sticks failed miserably in MemTest86+ and Windows Memory Diagnostics.

This is the RAM I refer to:

My question is, do I just buy another stick of this stuff and replace the bad, or can I replace both sticks with this G. Skill's product:

There is a Latency and timing difference between the two products. The machine originally called for PC3200, but when that started acting up I replaced with the PC5300 and it worked great for 3-4 yrs.

Of further note, this machine has an OEM mobo, hence the BIOS is locked and doesn't allow any timing changes.

    Thanks for any advice!

Corsair will replace the stick free, go to their site to get an RMA. I had one of their sticks fail quite awhile back they cross shipped I had it in no time. They are one of the best ram sellers there is!
