RAM or Vid Card...

Should i get a new vid card to replace my 5200? or should i go with the way cheaper, get another stick of 512MB RAM for 45 bucks?

Im thinkin RAM so i can use it in my next comp and mobo instead of selling my vid card to get a PCI xpress...

Although if i were to get a new video card it would be either of these...

My computer is mainly for gaming and at the moment i only have 512MB and i play CS:Source and regular CS, and i use the program FPS Creator.... I also use Flash MX, Dreamweaver, my computer is basically for games, making animations, and websites.

 

you would definetly benefit more from the 6600GT than you would from extra RAM, and since its better and cheaper than a 9800xt, that shouldnt even be on your list (unless you can find it significantly cheaper)

 

The only good thing about a 5200 is that it's DirectX 9 compatible, but for gaming it's not very good.

The 6600 GT would be a great addition, and extra RAM would also be good, up to 1 GB, but if finances don't allow for both then the card would give you better performance and value.

 

Yeah, definately go with the 6600 GT if you can part with the extra cash - that extra stick of ram will only give you significant framerate increasse when you have a TON of players on a server in CS:S.
