Ram Prob

Hi my ram is acting up, and im not sure what it could be, was wondering if someone could give me a clue please.

I have 1gig of ram, but it occassionally only says its 512mb or 768, i have 2 ddr400 pc3200 sticks. If i take one stick out and put it back in another slot it fires away straight away as 1 gig till i reboot a couple of times.

Are they both the same make?

Sometime RAM with the same specs, but different makes can conflict.

PS Posting your system specs would be helpful too.

 

No there not the same make but i brought them from the same shop and they said they will be compatible.


heres my specs. look in the memory module slot area. it says 1024 installed but only 768 in 2 slots. i dont get it.
