    Ok, heres the lowdown:

Installed 2 x 128 sticks of sdram in an old computer yesterday. Today i turn it on,Bios says 128. Go into windows run Aida32. It shows both banks filled with a 128 stick. I tried restoring the fail safe config in the bios, also. What can i do to get my freakin 128 back?!??!?!?! Thanks for the help....

Make sure both sticks are seated properly.

no offence asus, but if aida32 show its in there, it must be there
try taking out one of the sticks, and boot up
if it works, then turn off your pc, take it out and run the pc with only the other stick
also try to get your hands on some other ram
oh and are you sure your mobo is compatible with the speed of the ram? it might be pc-100, and maybe your mobo doesnt like it
    my pc did that once...

    None taken,
Aida32 is not without flaws, I would trust the bios first over any program, I have a system that Aida shows only one stick and I have two which are recognized by both Bios & windows, and all is fine.

I have also seen the same exact senario as gman's, on a friends PC when one stick just was not seated all the way, reseated ram and problem was solved.

Great suggestion on the rest of your post, it is very possible gman has a bad stick of ram or a bad slot.
    Compatibility issues, maybe.

Any help??? They are both pc133 like the mobo needs too... Ill try messin around a lil' more and see what, or if i can get the thing to work....

tried it...still comes up 128. guess it was just its time to go...eh? I cant figure out why it would go 'kaput' over nite...Noone touched it, as noone lives in this house but me...no pets no nothin. Also, if this matters any, there wasnt and rain/lightning that night either. sheesh, i have no idea...I also took it out and cleaned the contacts-no difference. I inspected it for chips-even though i knew there wasnt any because it was fine when i put it in. So, im fresh-outa-ideas. anyone got a teensy weensy little bit of insight.

BTW, Zulu, i know what ya mean.(your computer) I say, if it does what you wanna do, keep it..Via aint too bad just for everyday stuff. I got a C3 800A, just no board that it will work in. Kinda stupid that it needs its own type board even though its still 'socket 370'....:D:confused:.

Maybe you need a Ram testing program that you can run overrnight.

Went to http://www.majorgeeks.com/search.php and entered "memory test" and a second time entered "RAM test", both without quotes. Hundreds of programs appeared so you have to search. Maybe some MG 'er can suggest one. I ran one once but think I have since deleted it. Bazza
