ok so i have some ram.

here is what it says on the side of on of them.

    CM2X1024-6400......................................5-5-5-12
    xms6405v4.1...........................................800 mhz
    .............................................................1024 mb
    494910.... .0647003-2.............................xms2-6400

    i have 2x 1 gb of them.

now i just bought. 4x 1 gb. of

    CMSx1024-6400C4..................................4-4-4-12
    xms6404v2.1.............................................800mhz
    ..............................................................1024mb
    004218......07040410-0...........................xms2-6400

    so what is best ???

and to make it more confusing.

this i swhat numbers are on all the new ones.

    406212 -0643057-4
406211 -0643057-4 so that must be a pair. right.

    004218 -07040410-0
001704 -07040410-0 thise numbers dosent seem to fit. ??

so are thay matched `? from ssame line or batch i think but matched ???

i have now put in the 4 x 1 gb of

    and seems to work fine.

and i have to say that the old ones was aslo a pair.

    so is 5-5-5-12 better than 4-4-4-12 ???

and is xms6405v4.1 better than xms6404v2.1 it seems like a higher version number.

and could thay work together. so if my old ones is better can i put them in with another matched par of the other ram ??

can enybody explain this to me ???

They should all work together fine, it's just a case of if you're running dual channel (providing the ram and motherboard supports this) then have the same type in each dual channel slot (usually colour coded).

I'd go for the 5-5-5-12 over the 4-4-4-12 - but that's personal preference and my system runs faster with it :p

And yeh I'd imagine the v.5 ram is better :)

    but can i have 2x 1 gb 5-5-5-12 and 2x 1 gb 4-4-4-12 on the mobo togeher ?

or is it better since i have 4x1 gb of 4-4-4-12 to just leave them in.
then atleast they all run at same speed.

    or something.

    and about the colour coding

from an test of a simular mobo.

here is apicture of my mobo

    http://www.compumail.dk/vare-oversigt.php?varenummer=06714&type=0

so is 5-5-5-12 the speed of it ?? or what ?

and v.5 is that version 5 or 5 volt ??

the 4-4-4-12 is faster than the 5-5-5-12. these numbers are the latency of the memory, also known as timings. If you run both the 4-4-4-12 and the 5-5-5-12, the former will change its latency to that of the latter. The memory will always run as fast as the slowest stick
