I'm about to add 2 gb additional ram to this build. The new ram I purchased is dual channel. Is there any bios setting i need to change to enable dual channel?

Can I run in dual channel and still use my oddball (3rd) stick of ram?

    thanks, gimp

To my knowledge there is no such thing as dual channel ram, your memory controller will determine if it is capable. Running the third stick will kill the dual channel. ed

What i mean is that the ram i purchased (2x1gb) is set up for dual channel. But I cannot use the dual channel feature AND the third stick?

Gotta have matching sticks to run dual channel. Which means you need four.

*sigh* so what what is the advantage of dual channel? All 3 sticks are ddr2 800. is 2gb dual channel better then 3gb not dual channel?

Its faster. But it is less ram.
