The mobo I'm thinking of buying supports DDR2 667. Will it still run DDR2 800 but at the lower speed or do I need to buy DDR2 667?

The DDR2800 should be fine, however you might like to download the manufacturer's manual for the mobo and read it. They usually contain a list of tested approved memory.

If you already have the 800 then you have nothing to loose by trying.

I was thinking about overclocking overheads.
The manual (or google) gives no hints on this.
Has anyone tried putting 800 ram in a 667 board?
