    Please help

I have recently purchased a new RAM stick which is 1GB 3200. At the moment I have X2 sticks of 256 2700.

I was going to replace one of the sticks with my new 1GB 3200 but I have a suspicion that a 3200 combined with a 2700 will make it run at 2700 even though I have a 3200 stick of RAM.

Please does anyone know the answer???

Yes it will make it run at the lower speeds usually, but I have seen some people be able to oc the slower RAM. I'd still try my best to just get more RAM, or really just use the 1GB stick. I mean, do you do some crazy multitasking that requires 1.5GB honestly? Just my humble opinion mind you.

Thanks for the answer - No I dont really require the 1gb stick and the 256 together so I will remove it - the only reason I bought a 1gb stick is because I am trying to play matrix online and the spec you need is pretty high end and if you try running it with less that 1GB of ram it lags !!!

Any ways I think I will just run with the 1gb stick

    Thanks

I'm guessing your trying to run everything pretty high with a lot of candy? lol.

For some reason I've become adamantly opposed to more than 512MB of RAM, I think it's because I'm poor.lol

But yeah, glad to have helped dude. take it easy and enjoy the new RAM.
