    win 98se (build4.10.2222)

    proc:233 megahertz intel pentium w/mmx
    16 kilobyte primary memory cache
    265 kilobyte secondary memory cache

    3.22 gb Quantum fireball HD
    128 MB ram
    128=slot 0 it's reading 64 MB
    32=slot 1
    32=slot 2
    my problem is that she keeps on losing about a hundred MBafter I turn her on. I run system mechanic 5's recover memory and she gets up to about90 or so, but it doesn't take long before she's back to 24 MB. I know she's an old system but should she be losing that much memory so fast. I have explorer, systray,a printer driver, and zone alarm running. Any help would be appreciated...

    I would try different memory. It sounds like either the memory is going bad, or you may have a bad slot on the mother board.

    Take out all the memory and test it one by one to see which one is not working. If all work, put all memory in except for one slot and do that for every slot to see which one isn't working and exclude that slot/memory stick.

    Thanx, geekers. It was a stick of ram, and one of the slots on the board was wonky. This is the first time I've done any foruming. I could get used to this. Thanx again.
