RAM Upgrade for ACER 5050 note book

OKay im new to this but learn very fast, I have a ACER 5050 it has 1g of ram, a AMD Turion 64 x2 1.60 processor and 80gb hard drive it runs Vista Premium. now heres my problem my physical memory is 766 and according to the neat little side bar system monitor more often then not over 70% of my ram is being used when my comp is just idling, like my CPU usage will be 1 - 5% yeah my RAM is just being hammered so i take this a sign that i really need to upgrade now is there a specific type of ram i should purchase specific brand? I'm pretty sure i need DDR2 and im thinking im just going to add another gig. any help would be great thank you. Also is it hard to put in? im really good at building just about anything and am a wizard with my hands so i think i can manage getting it in there on my own.
