Hi I recently upgraded my old ibm thinkpad to a 80gb hdd and purchased a 1gb ram kit from newegg. I installed the new hd w/o problems and would like to know if someone can throw me a link that will step me through the process or is it as simple as shutting down popping out the old memory and popping in the new and restarting? I'm in the stone age running win2000 and have been advised to upgrade from my current 386mb of ram to this so that I can next upgrade to winxp. Any help would be appreciated.

It is as simple as you say, take out the old RAM, fit the new RAM, and start your computer up. its not a major hardware upgrade so it won't require you to re-install windows or anything and no RAM requires a driver to my knowledge. So you are good to go.
