I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I installed a 1gb ram module and a 256 ram module in my desktop. Upon startup at the very beggining it shows approx 1.3-1.4gb. After startup is complete Free Ram only shows 1.0 gb and AIDA32 only shows 1.0gb it shows both modules but only 1.ogb of memory. These are DDR mudules.

    Any help is appreciated.

What does it show if you take out the 256MB module? Is it still on 1GB or does the number drop?

And what's the make and model of your computer and which OS are you in?

That might be your problem. Windows 98 is limited to much smaller amounts of RAM than Windows XP. Double-check your install and make sure you are able to use more than 1GB of RAM.
