I'm not going to go through the whole sorted story rather stories related to this bill.
I had an account with Providian which turned into Washington Mutual, then recently was taken over by Chase.

I have a rather large balance which was unavoidable. My payments are high even though they're the minimum I pay.

I have gone without to make this payment. I go no where, I sold my car, sold a coin, nothing left but I do make the payment each month.

Recently they raised my min paymt amount, just a few dollars and also my due date after assuring me in writing everything would remain the same. rolleyes

Today I got a letter from them saying they have reported me to Experian Credit Reporting service. Plus lowered my line of credit (which I have never owed so much in my life except for real estate.
They have a list of bogus reasons, I do not bank with them, have never missed a payment(in fact try to pay more if I can) Guess where my stimulus check went? :(
I tried to go to Experian to protest and I can not even fill out the form. This is what I came across. A lot, refreshed rebooted. I AM PISSED!!!!:mad

Makes me think they are blocking purposely

Oh, Darlene, that sounds quite familiar.... These darn banks are playing poker with people with CC. Especially with a balance...

Can you take out a loan at a bank, and pay that off? You might be better off in the long run.... They are RAISING interest rates, and LOWERING credit limits to a lot of people, and it isn't just your bank, it is a LOT of them..

I HAD a Capital One card, and thankfully I didn't have a balance, when I got my letter... I didn't like my credit limit lowered.... or my interest rate skyrocketing, when I didn't have a balance, but they did it to me anyway, so I told them what they can do with their card, and I put it very pleasantly to them.. :-D

Hopefully, you can too.... I am sure the bank would give you a much better interest rate...

I can't tell by your attachment, it wouldn't let you in???? That has to be a first......:confused

I got in on Dan's computer and there is nothing bad on there. All say closed never late, I have 2 open right now, the other one is a couple hundred dollars balance I make that sound like it's nothing, it is but this big one is a real thorn in my side.
I filed bankruptcy years ago, I had cancer my mother had a stroke and it was to save my house until I could do something. Turned out it was for nothing and ruined me for ten years. It's an awful thing to do.

I am so sorry to here of you troubles Darlene As far as bankruptcy My sister and her husband went to a lawyer to file so they wouldn't loose their house . They ended up renting for three years until they could save some money by driving otr and are looking for a new home. Don't think they are going to buy as they up in years and rightly don't want to start something they would have to leave for their children to pay.As far as chase my son is loosing his home to them.Use to be a driver until he hurt his foot and lost his job.long to short, been living with us for a year now. We're in hopes that this temp job he's working at turns full .
Contact a lawyer that works on win situations or percentage. That letter is a legal contract that they are illegally breaking. I don't know if your court house has what ours has and that is a "Law Library" inside. That's where I get a lot of my legal help and suggestions. They can't tell you what to do but what others have done or where you can and what you can file . Can't hurt to look into it OR one better Write your congressman of the situation. I know of 2 people that did that and got results. Good Luck on what ever you do

    Ouch! Sorry, dar. :(

I don't have any advice for you unfortunately. I wish I did. There has to be laws of some sort though.

Bigtrucks is right, and so are you LauraR. That document she has :
IS a legal document,;) and I sure hope she still has it.. The library is great, and so are the lawyers that have "first consult FREE" as they are also good... I hope she gets some advice, because that can take a while to show up on her credit report... It may show up later, as it has just happened...

I don't know if there are attorneys that work pro bono any more unless it's malpractice or something where they are sure to get a large (thousands) for themselves at the end.
I wouldn't go anywhere near the court house here. This place is infamous for being - can't think of a word here, there so many.
Ever hear of all those people who in the 70's were accused of a child molestation ring and went to prison for years? HERE, and same people running it after 30 years.
Scary *** place. I would feel better in Los Angeles.

Almost forgot Dan got a bill from Capital One where they over tripled his interest rate.
There was something set by the president to keep that from happening but doesn't take affect til next year so apparently (credit card companies) are going to jump on it now.
    Unbelievable!!

Contact Arnold Schwarzenegger(I don't know if you are in his district) and send him a copy of the letter and ask how they can let something like that happen to the people he is suppose to be helping. That's not helping at all.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Dar, they can do whatever they want NOW, but if you have that paper
Then, you can just call a lawyer for ONE free consult, and see what kind of case you have... If he feels it is worth going after, he will take it, if not, he will tell you straight up... It isn't always about "malpractice", some actually believe in real law.. You just have to find them. Yes, Darlene, they do exist ;)

Oh lord, he's the worst. The new budget for Ca. is cut education, I got my SS cut a couple months ago, now this new one he cut elderly programs, child protective services.
When we were moving in here the police cam and robbed us, took cash (over $1000) took my gun pulled out (broke) our security system. Then took Dan.
Kept him for two weeks and when he went to court the judge said, "I don't know what I'm supposed to be sentencing him on. Gave him 3 years probation but no reason as to why, we never got anything back.
I wrote to the Gov got an answer saying they prefer to let local handle it.
I know this all sounds far fetched but I swear it's all true, and more way more.

OMG Dar my son said it was bad over there when he drove over the road but My Lord. That sounds like the east central coast of Fl when they were having those kind of problems. Kind of quite down since. It's not like that here where I'm at. Don't get me wrong we have our fare share of :crap going on with our local too but the higher ups get flack from the people and then it stops. Is there anyway of moving ?or is something keeping you there/(if you don't mind me asking)How can you put up with a place like that?

I would move... Heck, anyplace is better than having to live like that Darlene... Unreal, yes... But you still have control over your life.... Start looking, get the heck out of that state......

The state is fine, I was born and raised here. I have lived all over California and never come across anything this place.
It's always been a joke and called the Armpit of Ca. long as I can remember.
We lived in Ojai, my mom got sick I couldn't work and lost my place. Dan and I lived in LA for a few months (that's when I bought a gun)but no problem there.
My oldest daughter talked me into going to Santa Cruz, Mt area. only crime around there are the people trying to get back and forth to work in the Silicon Valley over the hill, road rage.
WE came here knowing it was cheap when neither of us could work any more. I new it got hot, and at first look I thought it to be nostalgic, AnyTown 1960 and sure enough it is. Health care is a joke also, I have to teach my doctor things.
Dan bought a house, as we were moving in so did the police. After that I lost interest and the market crashed.
He owes 3 times the amount houses are selling for at this time. So we wait.

Nope, don't intend to. I was thinking of contacting more people but afraid to.

About the credit cards, I have a feeling that with restrictions going into place next year that they are going to do what they can to raise charges before that.

Sorry about you son BT overlooked that before. It's awful when someone looses their home. Hope things pick up for him.
At times life is a :crap sandwich

Thanks but if there was anything I taught him that stuck it was A House is but a building and a Home is were you live and where your heart is. He's not happy that he busted his rump for 10 yrs to do this only to loose it in one year, but he's a pretty strong individual that like his mom just keeps moving forward.

It's a sad state of affairs Darlene and you are in my thoughts to find a good way to resolve your problems.
I have been very close to bankruptcy (some years ago)but with the help of a good lawyer and my wife standing by me i avoided it.
Now i do not physically own a thing and everything is in my wife's name so i get my allowance from her each month:-D
They always say if you owe a few thousand to the bank they have by the throat but if you owe a few millions you have them.
It is always the little guy who gets the :crap because we don't have the muscle of the rich and famous.

Aw Bill what you've been through makes me ashamed to complain of my piddly amount.
Here in the US it would not work to transfer holdings to ones spouse.
I have even heard of the IRS taking property of relatives for money owed, talk illegal!! Those people have done insane things.

By the way, how are you doing? I know you had some metal removed. You feeling ok?

First thing to do is cut the credit cards to shreds. If you can't pay cash, it's not a necessary expense. They say it hurts the credit rating, but it's better not to have the temptation. A credit rating can be restored, starving to death because they've started taking whatever money you have coming in can't. TALK TO A LAWYER. Talk around and look for other people that the same thing is happening to. Get enough people and you can get a class action in motion and hurt them. They'll ignore one or two people, and crush them like flies. But when you end up with twenty or a hundred people all screaming for blood, then they listen. These companies are not humans and so have no emotions to hurt. Treat them like they treat you, as nothing more than something to grab every nickel and dime from. Find a lawyer who knows how to work for legal fees out of the settlement. You can't fight them from a defensive position, you have to be the aggressor.

When the cops broke in the place to go is not the politicals who are less than useless but to the state police who have the ability to look into the locals. From there you go to the FBI if they state cops don't or won't help.

Please Darlene i did not post for sympathy.
You know the full story of why i am in such bad shape so i only have myself to blame.
My sympathies go to those who through no fault of their own end up in trouble and some bankers just walk away with the money

Thanks for asking, yep i had some screws removed from my shoulder so now it dosn't hurt so much.
It's a shame they can't take the rest out but if they did i would just be a pile of flesh on the floor.

There are no so called State Police in California. Every county has their own Sheriffs, Local Police (for within city limits) and Highway Patrol for the roads.

It is all so bazaar it would take pages to explain it all. I don't use credit cards, the type of financing I obtained for dental work came with a card in hopes you'll put more on it, which happened when the insurance co would not cover the house with the type of roof that was on it. So more on it.
    Roof - Good
    Dentist - Crook
The dentist advertised implants and after I paid, never saw her again and an assistant said they did NOT do that there. Although for the past years to date her ad in the yellow pages claims in big bold letters they DO.
Oh I'm getting mad just talking about it. :(
