    Hi
    I have a dell vostro 1000 laptop....

I am having trouble with getting a driver for the ethernet card.

Doesn't seem to be available on dells website......

I got the following device info

    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_170C&SUBSYS_022A1028&REV_02\4&B216F0A&0&00A4

If anyone could please help me.......the dell service tag is GHN8F3J

    Thanks

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

Greetings, Reddwarf4ever, and welcome to MajorGeeks.

Are you running XP or Vista, 32-bit or 64-bit?

Looks like that's the Broadcom BCM4401 b0 100base TX - you can try the driver from Broadcom but I don't know how proprietary your Dell's going to be about software.

I (and I'm sure other MGs) will keep looking for a Dell driver - there's a good chance it's included with a chipset driver package. For reference: this might also be a Marvell ethernet product.

Dell tends to only show specific updates under your service tag these days. To get any other common hardware updates for your PC, you have to select the "All related drivers" option.
