Hey there, I made a huge mistake; I created a new user account on my windows xp but forgot to make it part of the Administrators group. Then I proceeded to disable the only Admin account on the computer and now I cannot go back and re-enable it. Is there any possible way to re-enable the Administrator account from an account that has only the permissions of the 'user' group?

Regarding How to "Re-enable" an Administrator User Account:

Have you tried re-enabling "the only Admin account on the computer" in SAFE MODE?

Try This: Login in SAFE MODE - by pressing F8 immediately after the system does the Power On Self Test (POST) screen is complete after turning the PC on, and then selecting Safe Mode.

In safe mode, you can login as Administrator user, even if the Administrator user is not enabled. Then when logged in (in safe mode) as the administrator you can re-enable the Administrator account and/or create another user with administrator privileges.

    Good Luck!

When I get to safe mode there is a welcome screen without any usernames on it. Can I disable the welcome screen and go back to where I can type in the username and password instead of the welcome screen?
