    Hi,

I recently had a trojan.zeroaccess infection that you guys helped fix. That was last tuesday I think, last wednesday when I restarted my computer I noticed my norton wasn't starting during boot and when I tried opening the taskmanager it was once again disabled. I'm only posting this now because I only returned home today.

As before I can only run my computer in safemode, normal boot is so slow it's unusable and as stated my antivirus/firewall is not functioning.

I've once again run all the checks the start-up thread. I've also run the checks recommended in my previous thread in the hopes that they would again help the process. Logs to follow.

Here are the rest of the logs, as said I ran some additional tools in hopes I wouldn't have to bother you. Additional logs are RogueKiller, aswMBR and TDSSKiller.

Also I don't know if this is significant but while running ComboFix it gave a pop-up error that there was an active anti-virus scan running and asked me to disable it but since I can't access my antivirus I didn't do that. ComboFix seemed to run allright despite it. Also during the previous infection while scanning with ComboFix I got the same message and uninstalled my antivirus, ComboFix still gave me the alert of an active antivirus scan even though I had none installed.

Oh and just to make it clear I ran all of this in safemode with networking.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hello MiuGu,

Can you tell me what symptoms you are having other than Norton Antivirus not turning on?

    • Are you able to turn it on at all (manually)?
    • Are you being redirected or receiving pop-ups?

I would recommend freeing up some space (to around 20% free) and stop pirating games. See: Warning about Porn, Keygens, Cracks, and other Illegal Software

I am not finding any malware in your logs, I think you having too many programs, too much junk on your desktop and the lack of free HDD space is causing the most issues.

You may want to completely uninstall Norton and then reinstall it or choose another Antivirus to see if that helps. See: Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

As I said earlier it's not only Norton that's not functioning, I also can't open my task manager. Or well I can open my task manager but it won't show itself, it only shows up in task bar. Also my computer is running slower than usual. I'm quite used to my computer slowing down because of the cramped hdd, but currently it's way slower than usual.

    Will try reinstalling norton
