    Hello,
My desk-top PC became badly infected and gradually ground to a halt, so I returned it to the guy who built it and he said the hard drive needed cleaning- so I forked out £60.00 for that but when I got it back the printer and scanner wouldn`t install. Some registration files had been deleted - this has been sorted and they are now working OK but I cannot use my MS works Suite 2003 programme - it`s installed but the message comes up when I try to open up `Letters` - ` The works task launcher cannot access the task you selected. Files needed to start the programme may be missing, corrupted or may have been deleted. To restore or replace the files reinstall the programme and then try starting the program again `.
This I have done and still no joy.
Is there any thing else I can do please.
    Thanks alot.
    Cliff

This is going to be a Software Issue not a Malware issue so you can either post this in the Software Forum or I can move this thread into the Software Forum for you.

    Let me know!

Are you currently having any Malware problems?

    Bj,
I am new to this forum and this is my first thread so I don`t know how to remove my query to the Software Forum - Iam also 74 yrs. old and self taught on PCs - so could you please move it BJ.
I have just done an AVG Scan and it shows no infected files.
    Thanks,
    Cliff

Okay! No problem at all, thread moved as per your request.

Also, just to let everyone in the Software Forum know whats going on it would be best to drop a new message explaining whats happening.

Is this the error message you get:

The Works Task Launcher cannot access the task you selected. Necessary files may be missing, corrupted, or may have been deleted. To restore or replace files, reinstall Works, and then try starting the task again. If you no longer use the task, with the right button, click the task name, and then click Delete.
