Im trying to reinstall windows XP and I am unable to delete the existing OS. It is telling me that i cant because there are necessary files on it.
    Can anyone offer any advice?

Are you placing the Windows XP disc in the drive and rebooting with the CD drive as the first boot device?

That's what you need to do. You can't do it from within windows.
