    Hi I am having a similar problem with my audio codec. I have done the Everest scan and have the info just need to be directed on what to do next.

    Thanks for starting with the Everest report. It makes things easier and quicker.... the first thing you need to do is to install the chipset driver. Restart the PC, and install the Microsoft UAA Hi-Def Audio Update, known as KB888111. Then install your sound driver, and reboot again. Here's the links:

    Sound Driver
    If the audio doesn't work after this and you have Windows Service Pack 3 (and you do), go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the sound driver, restart the PC when it's completed. If the New Hardware Wizard opens when your desktop loads up again, just cancel it. Then follow the steps in this thread to 'trick' SP3 into thinking that it's SP2 temporarily, then install the sound driver. SP3 has a known issue with KB888111 and HD audio....
