    I have finished the read me run me process. There were a couple of problems I had.

    1. could not run bitdefender in safe mode with networking so just ran it on normal.
    2. could not turn off system restore as when I right clicked my computer, the only tabs were general/shortcut/revisions

    I have attached my logs, could some one have a quick look to see if everything is as it should be please?

    My computer had a trojan virus, rang PC world who told me to return it to factory mode which I did, then when I put everything back on, the virus popped up again!

    Hence why I ran the read me run me steps.

    Thank you

    Please do the following:

    Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    You may wish to uninstall the following
    Limewire

    Do uninstall these thru the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel:
    Bitdefender (You were supposed to do the online scan, not install the program. YOu should not have more than one anti-virus program installed!)
    Sunbelt/counterspy (We are finished with this program.)

    Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CTFMON.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now attach new logs for:

    * GetRunKey - please download the current version first!
    * ShowNew
    * HJT

    Be sure to tell us how things are running.

    ok, i have taken off limewire - which i though i had taken off when we returned the computer to factory mode. I have also taken off bitdefender and counterspy.

    At the moment I don't have microsoft office suite, (only something called starsuite) but when i get it next week will complete the tasks.

    is my version of runkey out of date then?

    thanks for this

    I'm a little confused....you can save and attach the requested logs with notepad.

    The version you have for GetRunKey is fine ...it was only a reminder to be using the latest version.

    You also need to tell us how your system is running, if you are having any other issue, and attach the logs.

    Your logs look clean. You may now uninstall any programs that we asked you to download for the analysis.

    Yes, you can safely remove BigFix thru Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

    Be sure to follow the last part of the Read and Run First instructions:
    Once you are sure all malware problems have been removed follow the below steps:See the following thread and complete the steps: How to Protect yourself from malware!
