In my stable of computers subject to my control ;) I have an aging eMachines T3958 (detailed specs here).

Those specs say that it has an 845GV chipset. The specs in turn for that chipset tout the wonders of its "Intel Extreme Graphics Technology" which promises to "[deliver] the latest in digital entertainment without the expense of a graphics card."

My question to you experts is: does this mean that I do not have an AGP slot on my machine? :confused

If not, can one still buy graphics cards to run out of a PCI expansion slot (if I even have one of those)? Would I want to bother?

:( Yes. That's what it means. Here's a picture of your motherboard...

The rest of your motherboard specs can be found at this link.

Yes, they are still available. If nothing else, used PCI video cards can be purchased on EBay and at used PC stores. In the picture above, you'll notice 3 horizontal white slots; those are standard PCI slots. So, yes, you do have PCI slots (all desktop PCs have at least one). Would you even want to bother? It depends on why you think you need a video card in the first place. If you're gaming, I'd say save your money until you can buy all new gear and get something up-to-date that can be upgraded. Any money put into the aging EMachine is thrown away (in my opinion).

I have to agree. I don't think this machine was designed to be particularly upgradable.
