real lightsaber

With enuf magnatic force it is posable to focus plasma into a blade like that of a lightsaber
It is IMPOSABLE to make a divise like that that ten people can cary let alown one....With todays tech it whould need to be the size of a large house and need more power then ten houses whould use.. not to mintion how mutch it whould cost !....and a using a laser to focus plasma common http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif...laser = light plasma = gas And using some kind of arc whould be extremly defacalt the arc whould jump to the arm insted of arcing the whole way to the other end.....not to mintion the fact that the arm whould get in the way...you whould need an inselater atleast 10 times better then air....here have a pic...

 

alright see that's what everyone has been telling me, but everyone on the site says "belive what you want we have one" have you been on the forums yet for the sabers? Maybe you could finally prove them wrong.

Petrol in a tube will either just go on fire and look like a candel or in this case explode.

Anyway even making a lightsaber for use of a weapon would be crap. The person wielding the weapon would be more likely to get killed.

lol I already read that, they were only trying to replicate lightsabers, not make an actual working light saber that cuts through things, I guess they were trying to make a video that looked incrediblly real.

 

I'v just come up with an idea I'll share it with the world for free

Have you ever seen an electric bar fire,its basically a peice wire coated with a high temperature oxygen free ceramic,the bars inside the fire can reach in excess of 800 degrees celsius,the basic limiting factor is the conductive metal used to make them any hotter and the wire used to conduct the electricity will melt.

If we take one of the new uber ceramics used to make cylinder bores in modern racing engines,highly heat resistive and not very brittle,and a modern high temperature metal,something with a high resistance and melting point,tungsten that has a melting point of about 3500 degress celcius "pretty darn hot,stainless steel melts at abut 1350 c".

We take the a thin rod of the tungsten,make a long shaft with a U at the end and feed it back down into the handle,of course the handle will have to be made of the foam used to protect the shuttle to protect our hands.

We then coat with our high temp ceramic to protect the tungsten from oxygen,"this is essential to stop it from oxydizing" We end up with something like this, end a current through it,it dont have to be that large,50kw about 5 times as much as an instant electric shower and we have a lightsaber,in 20 years time we can put our 50kw battery in the handle and go after darth vader,dont know how to make the saber dissappear.lol

get it to about 2000 degrees cut through some steel bars,It'll be pretty impressive

 

damn lol, would that really work? how much effort would you need to cut through something?
