Hello, sometime back I uninstalled the subject or so I thought, I got rid of real radio, jukebox etc.

Real Player 4 remains in my add/remove, when I tried to delet it it tells me:

"Could not delet file c"\windows\system\decdnet.dll., This file is being used b y another application ."

I tried delete in safe mode but that did not work, does anyone have an idea on how to get rid of this. I have real alternative installed.

    Thanks!!

Hello again, I ran the download for Real Player 4 and at the then it would not install, said I had an application still running.

As near as I can tell I have uninstalled every media device I had files on, is there any other thing you can suggest.

    Thanks!!

Look in C:program Files/Real/RealPlayerSetup and see if you have a file named r1pclean.exe. If so, click on it and this will uninstall real player. You may get a message saying you can't, just ignore and go on with it.

    Let us know.

Lists the programs that can be removed automatically. For installed programs that do not appear on this list, see that vendor's documentation for instructions on removing the program.

Thanks, the above is what appears if I right click the real player 4 in add and remove. I wonder how I could find the vendor's documentation?

I tried to find the real player setup but no luck. I am beginning to think that this is an embedded file that I'll never get out.

If you have any other thoughts would appreciate it.

    Thanks@@@

    Java... hi :)

I would try this do as Matacumbie said and install Real 4 then boot into Safe Mode and use add remove their, see if that removes it.

it is also possible that if you did install Real Alternative the program we were chattingabout th eother week then this also could use that .dll file.. so maybe worth uninstalling that also until Real Media has been fully removed then re-install Real Alternative so you can play .rm .ram files

Hey Halo, I did as suggested. I had already uninstalled every media device that I have on board, less neromedia, which I use with my sony cd-rw writer.

I have tried to download real player 4 several times and it will not install. I send to add/remove in safe mode and tried in uninstall, but I got a different msg this time ***syst\ra3214_4-dll, same old msg different wording this time.

Guess will have to give it up and reinstall some players, which would you suggest. Thanks

    Have a good weekend
