Real player question

    How do I start a thread/ask a question about Real Player?

    OK I'll try this way: When I try to dnload a clip (like off an MSNBC news page) it begins with a short advertisement (which has the popup "Download this Video" button), so I wait for my chosen news clip to begin. When it does I click on the button for the newsclip, but all I get is the previous advertisement, not the news clip.

    This happens at many websites, not all of them, but mainly those that have commercial ads before the video clip. An MSNBC tech once told me to uninstall and then re-install Flash Player, it worked for a day, then the problem started over again.

    Not sure what Real Player has to do with your MSNBC news clip failure to play.

    to see what flashplayer you are running (there are two installs one for IE and a different one for Firefox so if you run two or more browsers, you must go to the adobe page with each browser to check the version).
    Flash was updated yesterday and the latest version is 10.3.183.5 so perhaps if your flash is way out of date, it won't play.

    It's in the recording of the clip that is the problem: The advertisement is not letting go of the process, so to speak. So that when the news clip starts the "Download this Clip" pop-up button (provided by RealPlayer) still refers back to the advertisement instead of the news clip. Is that clear?

    I'm using IE8 and I updated Adobe Flash Player yesterday, but the problem persists. Thank you for trying to help. Judesky
