Real Time Protection

Ive been running adaware for some years now and was wondering of a better real-time-protection freeware. It just doesnt seem to be cuttin the mustard. Its on your top picks list but I dont know if those lists are updated.

I currently run all these (free versions):

Avira
Malwarebytes
SuperAntiSpyware
Spybot SD
SpywareBlaster
AdAware
XP firewall

Also wondering if its necessary to go with a Comodo firewall or stick with this one.

You think for real time that the spywareguard is better than adaware?
I thought about giving it a try.

Hows that Comodo firewall? Is it a nuisance as most people say?

 

SpywareGuard is an old program and hasn't seen an update for a long time, but, since it watches for behaviour instead of signatures, it is still very effective.
My Comodo is also an older version. It doesn't nag as much once it learns the programs. I install it last on any new reinstall because it seems like it recognizes any existing programs as safe so no nags about them.

 

Assuming youre running XP, did you just disable the XP firewall to run the Comodo firewall or the whole security center or uninstall it or what?

 

Yes, I am running XP Home.
Upon installation, Comodo automatically turns off the Windows firewall and takes over. Reboot is required, but a lot of programs are like that.
