I play a movie using WinDVD, and it is really choppy, like it will play for 1/2 sec. and then stop for about 1/4 sec. I opened up file monitor to see if it could see if something else was trying to read off the drive at the same time, but it wouldn't show any processes from the D: drive (cd drive), even when the movie was playing. Instead, it constantly came up with 1 same process over and over. The process was: services.exe:908, write, C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe, the offset would continuously count upwards, and the length kept going from 40 to 288 and over and over. Anyone know what this process is that seems to be slowing my dvd playing down?

well when i restart it seems to automatically fix it's self, but when this happens, it's very annoying. It has done this before.

And it is running windows xp. (pro version)

also, sorry, forgot the system specs.

    Win XP pro
    nVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go (toshiba), 32 MB
    Sound MAX digital audio
    Pentium M processor, 1.4 GHz

that should be enough info, right?
