really strange mouse happenings??? help please

ive got a usb optical mouse not wireless.
its is doing really odd things to me i cant understand why, its pretty new 3 months say and its logitech so not a crappy make (i think!)

all of a sudden it goes off for no apparent reason, i have take the usb out and put it back in to make it work, ive got 6 usb ports so i swapped it about it does the same in all of them, if i unplug it it always comes back on when i plug it back in and varies the amount of time it lasts before the same again?

ive just noticed that if i lift it up away from a surface or hold it upside down the optical light goes off?

ive tried uninstalling it but its plug and play anyway it has no driver as such?

has anyone got any idea why its doing this my pc is quite new too, i tried it in my laptop and it seems ok????

anyone have any ideas what to do ? it can go for a few hours sometimes ,so i dont know if its mouse or pc.

Can you give us what kind of PC you're talking about? I realize from your message that your problem is with a desktop, but can you give us the OS, what model/specs it is?

Try a different mousepad or different color surface that the mouse rests on.

Sounds like a bad mouse.
