Realtek alc97 ver a4.06

    I installed the last release of relatek alc97 ver a4.06 a few days ago from the realtek web cite... Now anytime i click on the nvidia mixer or nvidia control panel it freezes.. Never had a conflict in the past btwn these to apps.. I tried a roll bak question, since i have the nvida mixer should i uninstall the realtek audio codes???
    My specs: Abit an7 amd 2800 2 gb crucial ram
    audio is the abit onboard realtek, no sound card...
    Its an oldie but never crashed in 4yrs.....
    Any help/advise would be great...tks
