I'm using acer 4920g. Two days ago i installed vista for my lap but i cannot finish installing realtek audio driver. Even though the installation is completed, the driver still cant be used. I did read over some related topics in this forum but they did not help much. I cannot see the UAA in the device manager, and i also go to the regedit software-system-update-windows-.... to delete the registry file according to some instructions in the related topics, but nothing happened. I did try install XP and Win7 but the audio driver still not working. Now i'm using vista, hope u guys can help me work out this problem to save my lap. Thanks in advance!!! :D

    Hi

What service pack are you at with Vista? and are you using a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows Vista?

What you may need to do is to check Device Manager and look for any items with yellow ! marks by them, if you have any then do let us know which.

Its likely that you may need to install the Chipset driver HERE then reboot then try the audio driver HERE and reboot and test Audio.

If you have 64bit Windows then grab the drivers from HERE (all drivers for your model PC are here)

*you dont need the UAA driver as Vista has this built in, its only for users of Windows XP.
