Realtek HD Audio issue in Vista 64 bit

Hi All,

I have Vista 64 with a Realtek HD Audio onboard sound card. My mother board is a Gigabyte X48-DS5, 4gb RAM.

I have downloaded V2.08 driver and l hear sound through the rear output jacks, but not through my front audio.
Whilst tinkering with it, l selected to "disable front panel jack" and this enables the front audio panel. As confirmed by the non hazy image of the front panel jacks.

Anyone have any ideas why clicking on "disable" makes the front audio enabled ? Seems very strange to me.

Furthermore, my mic works for sound recording but not in my Flight sim ? I can hear people but dont have voice communication. And before anyone suggests, are you clicking the right button ? and is it set ? etc, yes lve checked through every combination l can think of.

I looked through thru the motherboard manual and saw nothing that would explain why the BIOS setting seems to be reversed. All I can suggest is maybe flash the BIOS (new releases available here) or visit the Gigabyte Service Center and send 'em an email. If you decide to flash the BIOS, be sure to thoroughly and completely read the instructions at the Gigabyte web site BEFORE doing ANYTHING!!!! Flashing the BIOS incorrectly can cause major problems....

Thank you for your reply. Im going to cast my eyes over the manual again, ty for your advice. I'll give that a blast on both and see what happens, l'll post again to see get everyone know what happens.
