can i have steps for sp2?

Hi

Steps are the same for any version of Windows in using Everest to gain a logfile and steps posted below.

However please just tell us what model HP pc you have and that will link you/us to the driver page at HP Support.

Plus also mention what Audio issues your having as your Audio driver looks installed, only seems to be a missing PCI device that could be a webcam, diaup networking modem etc, but to find the possible missing the model of PC is needed.

Install Everest and run
Click Report (top menu) > Report Wizard > Next
Choose All Pages > Next
Choose Plain Text > Finish and wait for report to generate
Click Save to File and leave the File Name as Report, then click the Save as Type dropdown and choose Report files (*txt) and click Save (n.b. Save to desktop is best as easy place to find it, use Browse to locate desktop)

Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

First, if you have any sound drivers currently installed, remove them. Download and install your chipset drivers from this direct link and restart the PC when the install has completed. Then download the Microsoft UAA HiDef Audio update from this direct link, but do not install it yet. Download the audio driver from this link. Now, install KB888111 that you downloaded earlier. The "New Hardware Wizard" will probably open during the install as it will detect the sound device. Cancel the Wizard. Click "Finish" when the KB888111 update is done installing. Then install the sound drivers. Restart the PC when the install has finished, make sure your speakers are powered on and plugged in to the correct jack (usually the green jack on the back of the PC), and you should be rockin' in no time!
