Realtek High Definition Audio on Vista

ok, so I'm having problems updating the realtek hda driver on a Toshiba laptop running Vista SP2 (Everest report included). At first it gave me an 0x00000103 error code. I started looking at previous threads, tried the solutions in there i.e. uninstalling UAA HD Bus driver & chipset update. Then the realtek installer tells me to reboot, but upon doing that the UUA driver is installed automaticly so preventing the realtek driver to be installed. Is there a way to prevent the UUA HDB driver to be auto-installed, e.g. a service setting or something similar I don't know of? I think a clean install of vista would solve the problem, sure, but I don't like that idea. Thanks

 

Ok first why is the driver being updated, were you having issues with the old driver? Have you rolled back to the old driver?
Second is the updated driver from Toshiba, Realtek's site or Windows Update? If from Realtek, sometimes those (being generic so to speak) might not work as well as one from Toshiba's site or MS Update.

I was trying to get a korg nanokontrol at work, instead of plug and play as it's promissed, all I got were troubles. It turned out there was something wrong with the USB2 drivers. After running DriverRobot, it told me I could update 20 drivers in total. All worked well, except the one from Realtek. I will try to find a solution with a driver from Toshiba instead, but I don't have access to that particular computer atm, so it has to wait for the weekend. Thanks for the reply
