I have a Creative 5:1 set of speakers and a Compaq desktop running Vista.
Depite replacing my Sound Card, I can have either rear speaker sound or front speaker sound, but not both.
Anyone know where I'm going wrong?
    Alan.

    Hi

Quick suggestion and thought is that your not setup for 5:1 sound in the settings, so to double check, right click the speaker icon in system tray and choose Sounds > Playback > Speakers > Configure and click 5:1 surround and Test by clicking each speaker icon in turn, then click Next if ok , then make sure Center, Subwoofer and Rear are ticked and click Next > Finish

Can enter sounds menu if you dont have the speaker icon in system tray by clicking Start > and typing in Start Search Sound then click on that link in the list.
