Reboot Loop/spy/malware removal

hello board members,

i'm having a familiar problem, yet i haven't found a solution that would fit my situation. i'm running:
windows xp pro sp2
pent III 1GHz
512MB of RAM

my pc was stuck in a reboot loop. it would loop prior to even getting to the "window xp pro" screen. i've tried booting up in the different options of safe mode, and even booting in "last known good config" to no avail.

so i installed another hard drive that already had xp pro on it and connected my troubled hard drive as a slave to see if i can scan it.

i ran my NOD32 virus scanner on my troubled hard drive, and no viruses where found. however it did give me the following:
D:\WINDOWS\b103.exe.bin »ZIP »b103.exe - archive damaged
D:\WINDOWS\b122.exe.bin »ZIP »b122.exe - archive damaged
D:\WINDOWS\b128.exe.bin »ZIP »b128.exe - archive damaged

i've searched the net regarding this type of files, only to learn that these are indeed some kind of virus. i'm not certain how to remove appropriately. most scanners that i found will only scan my main hard drive (which is the good hard drive that i'm running on currently, not the troubled drive)

so my two part question is; 1: can the files mentioned be the cause of my reboot loop problem? and 2: what program can i use to remove these files appropriately?

 

could always try removing them manually when you are booted in with the secondary hdd.
then when you put in your primary hdd to boot from you will prob need to do a windows repair as it sounds like you may have some lost or corrupted windows files. after the repair i would then scan your drive again
