now when i bought my packard bell computer i got a red reboot disk im sure you know the kind...... now i accidentally broke it

so i went on to the packard bell site today in an attempt to download a new one.... and i get this "boot disk 16" thing which makes a CD that is i'm guessing a boot disk......... now my questions are.......... is that correct? when i reboot with this disk will it just put my pc back to how it was when i purchased it because its in a right state now.... should i be going about this another way?

any help would be greatly appreciated?

The Red CD is the boot CD but do you also have the master CD ( CD1 )? the Master or CD1 has all the restore OS and software on it from what I remember of PB computers.

I don't know about more recent PB's but some time ago they had a restore image on a hidden partition of the hard disk, created by norton ghost and the floppy disk accessed this partition to do a restore.

if you have no Cd's as Halo metioned i think this might be the case. a bootdisk created by any version of norton ghost should be able to access this image if required. unfortunately i don't have Ghost anymore to create a disk for you. but i'm sure someone here can help if thats needed.
