Rebooting Question?

I would like to do a total reboot of my system, back to factory settings. At this point I've ran the READ ME & RUN ME section along with alot of other info on this site, thank you for all that by the way. I have alot of infected files that I cannot seem to get rid of, alot that I had were fixed through the info on the site. Seems alot of my infections are in the hex key files. I guess my real question is if I do a total reboot and then reset my restore points will this get rid of all the threats or is there more I have to do. My experience with computers is limited. Please let me know what I should do. TIA!!

Rebooting your computer is just turning it off and then back on ...it will do nothing to rid malware...A complete reformat and reinstall of the operating system will wipe out EVERYTHING ...including your documents and programs ...

It would be best to Do the Read and Run First and then post the logs from the scans in a new thread in the malware section, so that we can rid you of the nasties and save your system.

Many viruses/spywares/malwares will infect your system restore folder, so even if you do 'roll back' the PC to last week or even last June, you'll still be infected. In drasitc situations, it's best to back up your docs and data to a CD (with antivirus software running to prevent any infections from going to the CD) and format the hard drive, and reload Windows clean...
