So I'm looking to rebuild my gaming PC, since almost all the hardware inside the case is nearing 8 or so years old now. The PC I'd like to build without stabbing my wallet in the face would be something that could handle VR gaming while also streaming or recording for something like YouTube or Twitch.

My current PC build is as follows:
    CPU: i5-3350 @ 3.1 GHz from Intel
    Motherboard: Asrock H77 Pro4/MVP
    RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 8 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Power: Seasonic SS-620GM Active PFC F3 620 Bronze Power Supply
Tower: Rosewill Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case (Black Color)

I don't plan to replace my current computer case, as I've been told it can fit most anything when it comes to motherboards.

Now the build I want to do, as stated above, would be capable of doing VR games while also streaming/recording videos. I want to do a Ryzen build with the Ryzen 5 1600 (or 1600x) and I plan to use 2 GTX 1050 Ti's, having them both work together. Unsure as to what motherboard I should snag for this idea, but I've been told to not go with Gigabyte.

Looking for suggestions as to which parts I should pick up, as this will take some time to complete with my current budget. (Also, I do plan on using an SSD as my main hard drive for windows, while having my current HHD as a second drive for storage. Any suggestions on which SSD I should pick up?)

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, a full tower case is way more than most users ever need. Really, the only computers that really need a full tower is a server with 10+ drives and an EATX motherboard. So you don't need a new case. You just need to make sure it has decent air flow through it.

Sadly, you really need to state your budget.

Do understand that VR gaming in itself can be very demanding so VR gaming while streaming/recording videos is even more demanding.
Whoever told you that is feeding you hogwash! Gigabyte is a great board maker (my preferred brand, actually - though I also like ASUS and ASRock, among others). Is every single one of their offerings top notch? Of course not. But that is the same for every board maker.

Do note a new motherboard constitutes a new computer. And that typically requires a new Windows license. If your current license is an OEM/System Builders license that came with or was purchased for your current computer, it cannot legally be transferred to this new computer. So keep that in mind when establishing your budget.

While your current PSU is a nice one, and while it should technically support two graphics cards, if it too is 8 years old, I would probably suggest a new one.

I like Samsung SSDs. And if the budget allows, I would go all SSD and forget about hard drives.

Note your current motherboard is still nice. You probably could easily upgrade the CPU, add another 8GB of RAM, migrate to a SSD, not need to buy a new Windows license, and still be impressed with its performance. And with money you save, you will still have money left for a second graphics card.

Rebuilding my PC while not needing to get a new Motherboard would be nice, but the thing is 8+ years old and I'm unsure if it will be able to fit a 5th gen Ryzen cpu. As for budget, I don't want to have to spend any more than $2k.

I am aware that full VR while streaming/recording will take up a lot of computing power. I've been planning to do it for years, just haven't had the money to work towards it til recently. As for the PSU, I am probably gonna go with an 800W so I don't have to worry about it not having enough power to run everything. I'm already planning to get a new windows licence, since I'm going to reinstall and wipe my pc, starting fresh again with some files saved.

All SSD would be awesome, but I can make do with one or two for now. :3
Good to know that I don't have to replace my case. Love the High airflow feature for it, and helps with cooling a lot. Though two of the USB plugs on the front are broken, but they are only the 2.0 ones. The 3.0 plugs currently work just fine. Last I checked, a 1050 Ti at my local Best Buy (with employee discount since one of my parents work there) was somewhere in the $140 - $150 range, which I'm happy to pay.

Most likely not. But that is easy to tell. Visit the motherboard's web page. Just about all motherboards have their own web page and most makers include a CPU QVL (qualified vendors list). This is a list of CPUs specifically supported by that board. Note it is not about "fit". Though the CPU must use the same socket as is mounted on the board (the physical compatibility part), it also must be supported by the chipset.

Most pages also have a RAM QVL. While you must buy a list CPU, there are too many RAM makers and models for board makers to test them all. So you don't have to buy listed RAM, you should buy RAM with the same specs as listed RAM to ensure compatibility.

$2K is a big budget and will give you many options for a very nice system. :)

As for your PSU, you really should pick out all your components first, then determine the size you need (factoring in any updates you might add in the next couple years).

Yeah, your case is fine, though you might have to add another fan - depending on what's in there now.

    Alright.

Currently my case only has the fans that came with it inside, not counting the ones on the heat-sync, PSU, and graphics card. I was thinking of replacing them with something better, and maybe more colorful just for the fun of it, but I don't know just yet.

I'll poke around and see what CPUs are supported for my motherboard, and if required I'll look for a newer one that supports the CPU I'm looking at. :)

Well, no way your current board support the Ryzen because your current board is for Intel CPUs, not AMD.
