Hi, I use XP Home, and I'm looking for a way to specify what type of files are allowed in my "recent documents" folder. I would prefer to do it without using a separate program (maybe a registry hack of some sort?), but if that's not possible, I would also consider a recommended (and cheap) program. I only want office documents in it, but it's always cluttered with jpeg, help files, pdfs, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have XP, but got a lot of registry hacks from this place and this might be what you are looking for:
    Disable Recent Documents History

To accomplish what you want you would need to make 2 registry files to click on (one to disable it when your doing other things, and one to enable it when your working on your office documents).

This has a location to download the Windows Registry Guide 2003 which may have something you could use, I haven't opened mine yet.

There is a link on the site to suggest hacks too, so you might try it.
E for effort, hopefully you can find something there that will help.

Hey, that's a pretty cool site, thanks. It looks like I might be able to load the menu with the documents I normally use, and then disable it so nothing else clogs the menu.

I'm trying to find a good program that will wipe the free disk on my hard drive to destroy old deleted files. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
