    Recently, I installed several Windows updates for my Vista Home Basic x86 which were issued driver updates. I updated my NVIDIA display, Realtek sound, etc. Also, I installed Sunbelt firewall. Both are incredibly essential to the health of my computer.

    Since then, my browsers have all been dreadfully slow when it comes to loading media like Flash and animation. Also, just something else to throw out there, I instant message a lot and I noticed that right after sending a message, if I start typing immediately it will skip the first character of whatever I was typing. I'm not even sure what this is caused by, maybe CPU/frame-based slowness that was also caused by some new update I've installed. What can I do? I've disabled my firewall, it's nothing caused by that I don't think. Should I roll back the Windows update driver updates? How can I do that, if so?

    Probably the easiest thing to do is to perform a system restore to a point prior to the undates, it maybe something installed bad.

    Just type system restore in the search box that opens with the start, or possibly button.

    You have probably got restore points going back a couple of months and microsoft automatically sets one before installing updates.

    If this works, then try the updates again. But when updating, have all other programs closed and wait for it to finish.

    And uninstall the Sunbelt firewall and confirm all is running good before using that again.

    And this free firewall is often recommended here;
