I just bought a cheaper digital camera (Polaroid i634) to keep in my boat and it uses AA batteries. They don't last very long so I'm looking for some good rechargable ones and a good charger. The charger would have to be both AC and able to plug into a Cigarette Lighter adapter that's on the boat.

I have done a little research and the Maha http://www.mahaenergy.com/store/Index.asp brand of chargers seems to be good, but I would rather try something you can get locally.

Just from what I have found out, you want one that charges the batteries individually and doesn't over-charge. But, you guy's might have diiferent experiences or advice. ;)

    Thank's for any help. :)

If you look for a charger that has a separate power supply and charger unit they usually come with a cigarette lighter connection as well as the wall-wart AC supply.

My Uniross ultrafast charger for 2 or 4 AA or AAA batteries has served my familie's cameras and MP3 players well for several years now.

Make sure you get Nickel Metal Hydride batteries not Nickel Cadmium with over 2000 mAh rating.

Agreed, I have the same batteries that I bought a little over a year ago. They still seem to be holding the strength charge as new and I use them a lot. (Energizer)

OK. I will check the Uniross and Energizer brands. I will have to check on Uniross, see who has them around here.

Target, where I bought the camera, really sells the Energizer's. I think they have some type of new batteries.........longer life and all that.

I will make sure of the Nickel Metal Hydride.

I just bought these batteries from Target (http://www.rayovac.com/recharge/index.shtml) let me tell you they are incredible! They come pre-charged, so I took them out popped them in my camera and took about 70-80 pictures on Christmas day. After all that they still lasted me about 1 to1 1/2 weeks with average use on the first charge.

You can buy them with the charger or without. Unfortunately, it is only a wall charger BUT they can be charged using any rechargeable battery charger not only Rayovac's charger.

Yeah, I saw the Hybrids. Wasn't sure, they don't cost that much........who knew. Wouldn't hurt to try them if they work in any charger.

    Thank's for the link studiot.
