    Hi all
Can anybody tellme how to recognize a 98SE cd. I have just got one from a retailer and the numbers on it are lower than a five year old 98 I have and there is no ''second edition'' on the cd.

Sadly Microsofts own How to Tell site below only goes back to WinME on tips to spot a fake......

but Win89SE should look like this

but look around the centre of the CD and you should see a Microsoft Hologram on original CDs, also the colour of the CD can be a printed blue.

Not massively helpful I know but only MS Italy has images http://www.microsoft.com/italy/softwareoriginale/pid/contraffazione.mspx

I have two versions of Win98 SE, the full version and the upgrade version. Both have Second Edition clearly visible on the CD's. Hope this helps! :)
