Im looking to upgrade my monitor. I want a noticeable size difference so im going from 19-24 inch or maybe just a 22 but im not sure yet.

Can someone recommend one for me, i would like recommendations that people have personally used and not just recommendations because 'it looks ok'.

    I have 4 19" and one 24"
    1. 19 Fuji wide screen I thought it was kind of small but it appears that way because it' widescreen no problems with it.
    2. 19 Princeton it has brilliant color I've had it for 3 years no problems with it
    3. 19 Memorex I bought 2 one for my desk at work and one for my wife desk for work it's fine the color isn't as bright as the Princeton or the Fuji.
    4. 24 Sceptre I only had it for 2 months, The size is breathtaking going from a 19 inch widescreen to this. I only got this one because I got a tremendous deal on it. I would have preferred the Acer but I couldn't pass up the deal. No problems with it the color is great, there i no distortion and it is bright.

The only suggestion I would have you make is look into the warranty. A 24 inch monitor at a good price is no good to you if after 3 months it goes up and the manufacturer won't fix it..

thanks buggabear for your reply. Another question: Are monitors only compatible with specific operating systems?

no, or at least the monitors I've used never had a compatibility problem with the OS. You can run into a problem with the graphics driver on some computers but thats few and far between

    1. What is your budget?
    2. What are the primary tasks for this computer?
    3. Do you need or want widescreen?
    4. Will you be adding a 2nd monitor in the future?

Currently running 2 Samsung 22" 2220wm-has widescreens on this machine and love them. The Wife is running 1 Samsung 24" 245bw widescreen and she loves it.

Other systems are running various 19" and 17" Samsung and Viewsonic monitors - with no problems.

Sorry i havent updated the situation on here, but i managed to get some advice from someone i personally know and have decided on a 24" Samsung.

Thanks for the help though guys.

Is there any benefits to adding a second monitor? or if there isnt an actual benefit to it why do people add another, what is it used for?

I am amazed at how I ever got along with only one monitor for so many years. I will never go back to a single monitor. The advantage is desktop space. LOTS of desktop space where I can spread out what I am doing, instead of having open windows buried under open windows.
