Recommend Date Cloning Operation

I'm looking for a program recommendation for my sister, to find out the data amount on some passworded laptops (my deceased father's paintings), and ideally clone the data to a single drive for sorting later assuming that would be cheaper
I know there is a page here with a variety of cloning programs, I imagine someone here may be familiar

if it were me I could even just take them out of the laptops but she is the one doing it

Cloning copies EVERYTHING. That's not what you want. If you did that, you end up with a bootable hd that asks for the password exactly like the original.

Your sister would like to retrieve data from one or several laptops.

Remove the hard drives and attach them to a booted, working computer. She should be able to see and copy the data over to the working computer. Always copy, never move. Why, because if there is a hiccup while working with the files, if you selected move, the files are gone. If you were wise and selected copy, the files remain on the source computer's hd and you can try again to copy a file or files.

Ok, then I want a program that just copies, that might be simpler to find anyway. You know, if it copies faster than Windows does.

It would still be ideal to recoommend a method for her to get into the computer (although I guess a linux boot drive would do it) if the passwords my father left behind don't work, rather than make her dissasemble the computer.
