Recommend - Virtual Background Software

    As a student, I am using many different video conferencing software applications (Webex, Zoom, Engagli, etc.) some instructors allow me to change to a virtual background, some do not. So, looking for a software application that I can use for all that is preferably US-based, not a CPU or bandwidth hog, and inexpensive (prefer not monthly fees).

    Looked at a few, but was not too impressed with their operation, TOS, or privacy practices.

    It helps if you post what programs you've looked at so others don't post about programs you are not interested in.

    I can offer no help because I use Zoom on an android tablet and changing backgrounds is not an option on android.

    I'm pretty sure you can use OBS to do that, it is what streamers use and it is free. You edit the background, then use OBS as the camera source in your chat program. A cool OBS trick is the transparent glass whiteboard. You Tube has tutorials for multiple platforms.

    The recent ones I can recall that I have tried, are: X-Split VCam, Snap Camera, ManyCam.
