I have heard good and bad things on the following:
    Fix-it
    Tune up
    JV16 2006

I would like to hear more opinions on these three. I am not one of those that always needs freeware. Cost if reasonable on an excellent product is always worth it and they deserve their pay.

Not sure about the first 2, in fact be very careful of "Tuning" programs they will try their utmost to lure you into the products and for most of the time provide very negligible or actually detrimental impacts for your sys.

jv16 2006 is very good but make sure you have sufficient virtual memory free in your resources as I ran the RegClean the other day and exhausted the mem and the app just stopped (after 1 hour) and would only allow me to cancel (wouldn't even let me delete some crud I could see).

I would recommend you look at Your Uninsatller! 2006 for maintaining system programs, love it and it does delve into the reg and remove a lot more than the Uninstallers do (they should actually be called Partial Uninstallers and or Registry Bloaters).

I have never used the paid version of JV16, but the free version is good. Bazza
