recommended ripper?

hi, can anyone recommend a free ,safe dvd ripper?

 

DVDFab. You are using it on your own DVD's, --- right?

 

i don't think dvdfab is free anymore, but dvd shrink is

True, but the unregistered version will rip a DVD to your hard drive all the same.

 

hmmm - i'll have to check that out as i still use an earlier freeware version in my windows,
it'll be good to know if i lose it

 

On the DVDFab site, under the Free Stuff link, is DVDFab Decrypter. It only rips the DVD to the HD and removes protections and PUOPs. It doesn't do any of the extras that the paid version does. DVD shrink does not handle many of the newer copy protection schemes but it is still one of the best at fitting a DVD movie on a DVD-5.

 

thanks for the advice i will have a look at the dvd fab, I understand that dvd shrink is no longer distributed by the author and so should be avoided or so i have read.:confused
