Hey guys, ive pretty much been too busy programming to keep up on hardware anymore, I currently have a 3.0GHz P4, Mobo with Onboard SATA(Which im using) gig of pc400 RAM and a GeForce 4 Ti 4400. Well that vid card doesnt play the new dx9 games to well (or at all for some of them) Im looking into upgrading and from the prices I can find AGP is more expensive than PCIX by at least $50, so i figure I might as well get a new mobo and vid card, anyone want to recommend me anything? I may go with a new processor but not sure yet, if I do it will be AMD. I need SATA also, wouldnt mind RAID.

Anyway if your bored recommend me some known good setups, thx

Well it depends on how much you want to spend, and what kind of setup you want in the long run....Check out these sites.

    www.Newegg.com

    and

    www.ZipZoomFly.com

They have some really good prices....I just upgraded my system using them.

    Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Mobo
    AMD 64 Hammerclaw 4000+ (FX-53)
    GeForce 7800 GT/GTX 256 MB
    TruePower 680 Watt PSU

    Good times...

onboard SATA and RAID (both PATA and SATA) are pretty commonplace now, so theres no issue there.

I'd recommend an Asus A8N series, either an A8N Deluxe, A8N SLI-Deluxe if you want the option of running dual video cards later on, or the championed A8N SLI-Premium, with a heat pipe cooled chipset.

Whoa, ive never even heard of the Premium....how does it differ, and are the advantages worth the extra $$$?

Will check out the ASUS, I shop at Newegg all the time, any recommendations for a pentium mobo? I could save myself $300 by sticking with my current processor, my computer runs great, I play everything in 1280x1024 my monitors natural rez. I just cant play the dx9 games.
