Recommended specs for a new computer. any suggestions?

hey everyone, im thinking of getting a new computer very soon and was wondering what brands and models are considered good. im looking for a desktop pc that is decent for some gaming and is not too expensive. what specs do you recommend that will support most pc games available now? any suggestions for processor speed, graphics card, motherboard, etc.?

 

How much are you looking at spending?

 

less than $1000 definitely. i dont want to get a fancy pc right now. something relatively cheap, ideally that will have the specs for decent gaming. im not sure what is most important for gaming. graphics card, processor, stuff like that

 

There are plenty of deals out there for under a $1,000.00 If you are looking into gaming, you are going to have to spend more.

 

Here's an Asus for around $850 minus monitor from Amazon.com with free shipping. It should do just fine with games — take a look at the specs. It's the same computer I recommended to another poster to the forums that originally had a "budget" of $800 — $900 but decided to spend much more.

 

A GT620 as listed for that ASUS would be poor at gaming, it's a very CPU-heavy build, fine for something like Photoshop.

Something with 8GB memory, an i5-3570 CPU with a HD7770 should be around the same price and much better for gaming. Or an i3-3220/HD7850.

 

my friend suggested a trinity amd a8 with radeon 7700 and 3.8 ghz. its a cheaper option but not sure if it would be adequate for gaming. anyone have experience with trinity?
